Defence HQ to Host X Space on Counter Terrorism Amidst Plateau Attack

 


 Nigeria Defense Headquarters (DHQ) has announced a high-level interactive session on X Spaces to discuss the country's evolving counter-terrorism strategies, coming after a deadly attack on Sunday night, March 29, at Agwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, which left an unspecified number of residents dead.

The event, titled "Winning the War Against Terrorism: Kinetic and Non-Kinetic Approaches," is scheduled to take place today, March 31, 2026, at 3:00 PM GMT+1. The session aims to provide insights into how the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) are balancing military operations with community engagement, de radicalization, and psychological operations.

Key speakers include Major General Samaila Uba, Director of Defence Information; Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations; Brigadier General Yusuf Ali, Coordinator of Operation Safe Corridor; and Hon. Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media & Public Communication.
