In an official statement, the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy A. Anake, revealed that the 400-level student died on April 6, 2026, while participating in a football training session. According to the statement, Toluwase, described as a "diligent and vibrant student," stepped out of the game voluntarily, complaining of leg pains and tiredness.
