T he Enugu State Government has denied viral reports claiming residents were attacked in Awgu Local Government Area, describing them as false and aimed at stirring panic. In a statement released Tuesday, Commissioner for Information and Communication Dr. Malachy Agbo said no attack took place in Awgu or any other part of Enugu. He accused those behind the rumour of deliberately spreading misinformation. “There is no truth to the report. It is baseless and exists only in the minds of those circulating it,” Dr. Agbo said. He confirmed that residents in Awgu and across the state are going about their daily activities peacefully, with no security breach recorded. The commissioner appealed to the public to disregard the claim and stop sharing unverified information that could create fear.
