Nigeria Held to 2-2 Draw by Jordan in International Friendly

Nigeria's Super Eagles had a thrilling encounter with Jordan in an international friendly match in Antalya, Turkey, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The match ended 2-2, with Jordan initially taking the lead through Musa Al-Taamari in the 17th minute. Moses Simon quickly equalized for the Eagles in the 26th minute with a swift left footed finish.

Just before half-time, Emmanuel Fernandez gave Nigeria the lead with a well-taken left-footed shot. The Eagles dominated the second half but couldn't capitalize on their chances. A setback came in the 57th minute when goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was substituted due to injury, with Adebayo Adeleye taking his place.

Jordan leveled again in the 77th minute through Mohammad Al-Daoud, and substitute Alex Iwobi was sent off late in the game for unsportsmanlike conduct.

This match was part of a four-nation invitational tournament, also featuring Iran and Costa Rica. Nigeria had previously beaten Iran 2-1 in their opening match, with head coach Eric Chelle making changes and giving debuts to Yira Sor and Emmanuel Fernandez.
