The family of Mr. Edwin Godwin is seeking justice for their 12-year-old son, UfokObong Edwin Godwin, who died on Easter Sunday after an alleged bullying incident at Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
According to reports, the boy was hit on the neck by a senior student (SS3) after he refused to avail his provisions to the senior. He was taken to the hospital by school authorities without informing his parents and later returned to school. The parents picked him up for the holiday, and was not briefed of the incident.
The boy complained of throat pain, and despite medical attention, he passed away on Sunday morning due to complications from blood clots around his neck.
The story was shared by Oga Yenne Tv on Facebook, but as of press time, there was no official statement from the school or the victim's parents.
The family is calling on the school authorities to explain what happened and why they didn't inform them about the incident. They are seeking justice and hoping that sharing their story will bring attention to the alleged bullying.
