The joint task force (north-east) Operation Hadin Kai has arrested a 15-year-old suspect, Tijjani, in connection with a deadly attack in Borno state that killed Brigadier-General Oseni Braimah and three other soldiers.
Tijjani was apprehended on Sunday, April 12th, while allegedly on his way to purchase food for his group. According to military sources, he is linked to the attack on a military base by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, which resulted in Braimah's death.
In a video, Tijjani confessed to participating in attacks on Benisheik and Ngamdu, saying he was sent from Jilli to Ngamdu to collect logistics but was caught by troops.
Authorities have not issued an official statement on the arrest. Braimah was commander of the 29 task force brigade under Operation Hadin Kai.
