Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has announced a major reshuffle with a fresh set of appointments covering commissioner offices, government agencies and advisory roles across the state.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibraheem Musa, made the announcement public on Thursday, September 10, 2026. According to him, the new appointments cut across sports, health, youth development, trade, gender issues and public infrastructure. Governor Sani said the changes are part of his administration’s plan to strengthen reforms and make government services reach people at the grassroots more effectively.

Leading the new cabinet team is Ben Kure, who will now serve as Commissioner for Sports Development. He will be joined by Amina Akilu Dalhat and Abdullahi Garba Abbas, both named Commissioners for Special Duties to handle the first and second portfolios. Dr. Halliru Soba has been appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration, while Hon. Ismaila Aliyu Makarfi and Hon. Mukhtar Isa Hazo will serve as Special Advisers on human capital development and liaison with the State Assembly.

The changes also affected several state agencies and corporations. Engr. Namadi Musa was named Board Chairman of KADRARA, while Zakari Aliyu will now lead the Kaduna State Media Corporation as Managing Director. Garba Thomas Njine takes over as Executive Director of KSMC-TV, and Bello Sani Gimi was appointed Executive Director in charge of Corporate Services at KAPSCO.

A large number of appointments also went to Special Senior Assistants and Special Assistants to the Governor, reflecting the administration’s focus on community engagement and local coordination. Some of those named include Dr. John Ayuba for Social Policy, Aliyu Lawal Ibrahim for Youth Support Services, Joyce Viyanto Antonza for Inter-Agency Coordination, Barnabas Elizabeth for Community Integration, and Garba Hayatu for Trade Development. Others include Hon. Ibrahim Ismail on Constituency Affairs, Hon. Blessing Sambo on Gender Advocacy, Engr. Justin Ladan on Local Enterprise Development, Yusuf Bashir on Community Outreach, and Abdullahi Lere Lawal on Public Service Coordination. More names were listed to handle emergency management, environmental protection, volunteer services, social welfare, institutional relations, youth programs, trade, information and community relations across different parts of the state.

Governor Sani also reconstituted boards for key state institutions. AVM Bashir Gamagira Saidu will chair the Kaduna Vigilance Service Board and will work with Makama Yusuf, Yahaya Ibrahim Shinko and Hon. Nuhu Kagai. At the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board, Alhaji Munir Jafaru takes over as Chairman alongside Hon. Shehu Makarfi, Niima Hajara Kera and Hon. Andrew Dogon Yaro Iya. Dr. Yusuf Aliyu Bature was named Chairman of the Kaduna Hospital Supply Management Agency, while Esther Bago will head the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development. The governing councils of the College of Education, Gidan Waya, and Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic will now be chaired by Hon. Justice Gideon Isa Kurada, retired, and Dr. Bello Lawal respectively. Hajia Fatima Yahaya Nuhu was appointed to lead the Kaduna State Water Corporation board. Hon. Ahmed Yaro Coca-Cola will chair the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency board. The Kaduna State Residents Identity Management Agency board will be chaired by the Commissioner of the Planning and Budget Commission, and Hon. Uban Kato will head the Kaduna State Facility Management Agency board.

Speaking on the appointments, Governor Sani said every name was carefully selected based on competence, integrity and commitment to public service. He urged the new appointees to bring fresh energy to their roles, avoid complacency, and align with his government’s vision of building a stronger and more resilient Kaduna State. He also prayed for God’s guidance and success for all of them as they begin their new assignments.

NANS Threatens to Shut Down MTN Over Attacks on Nigerians in South Africa

  T he National Association of Nigerian Students has issued a final warning to South Africa over violent attacks on Nigerians, saying major businesses like MTN could be forced out of Nigeria, Sahara Reporters reported.   NANS sent a letter to South African High Commissioner Thamsanga Dennis Mseleku in Abuja, expressing anger at what it called continuous and brutal xenophobic violence against Nigerians in South Africa.   The letter, signed by NANS President Comrade Atiku Isah, said the association speaks for over 40 million Nigerian students.
