Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has said he plans to go back to school and obtain a university degree after he quits football.
The Galatasaray attacker, 27, disclosed this in an Instablog TV interview now making rounds online. He stated that despite his success in football, education remains a priority.
“Growing up teaches you that not everything comes from the classroom. Life gives its own lessons too,” Osimhen said.
He pointed out that football careers are brief, so players must think about what comes next.
“Getting a degree would mean a lot to me. I’m considering it. You can’t play ball forever. After 20 or 25 years, it ends,” he noted.
Although he has other ventures to depend on after retirement, Osimhen said earning a degree is important to him and to motivate young people.
“I have options when I stop playing. But I still want to lead by example and show the younger ones the way,” he added.
He also addressed youths who left school due to hardship. He told them it is never too late to return.
“If life forced you to quit school, don’t worry. You can go back anytime. Education is always available,” he said.
Osimhen did not mention when he will enroll or the course he intends to take.
His comments have drawn positive reactions online, with many calling it a reminder that learning matters at every stage of life.
