Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have detained a woman identified as Lorretta Anoh in connection with the death of 36-year-old Chikoka Emeka Henry at his residence in Osongama Estate, Uyo.
The case first surfaced on X and Facebook on Tuesday and quickly drew reactions online. The posts shared by different accounts alleged that Henry was found in his apartment with a deep injury to the head.
The same reports claim Anoh was the last person seen entering the apartment on Tuesday. They further alleged that a search on her led to the recovery of N2,943,250.00 in cash, which she purportedly admitted belonged to the deceased.
It was also alleged that prior to her arrest, Anoh had begun processes to transfer ownership of Henry’s vehicle. The car was described in the posts as a black Mercedes-Benz 4Matic with registration number EKY 694 GP, said to have been driven out from the estate’s car park.
The posts further stated that the Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amengheme Andrew, has ordered the case to be moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Ikot Akpan Abia for discreet investigation.
As of press time, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command has not released any official statement confirming the incident or the arrest. This report is based entirely on social media accounts and information attributed to police sources in those posts.
The command is expected to issue an update once investigations at the SCID are concluded.
